Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone join?

Absolutely, as long as you have a kind heart and an open mind. You do not have to identify as queer in any way, as long as you have the same desire for an open and inclusive community that is safe and enjoyable for all walks of life.

IHow many people are in the group?

We are growing every day, and we will grow as much as is sustainable to our mission and our values. Right now we have a few dozen people on our mailing list.

Do I have to go to all the meetings?

You are not obligated to anything. The more people we can get to the community meetings the better. This allows us to maintain accountability to our elected officials and ensure that our voices are heard. That being said, you are under no obligation to go. There is no ‘in good standing’ here. We are just a group of people trying to do our best.

Are you just in yancey and mitchell counties?

As of now, yes. We are focused on fostering change and growth in our local community first. If the circles expand, then perhaps we will too. Later.

Who is in charge?

Nobody. This is a community run organization that relies on one another.
